History

YHSS was envisioned by a group of social entrepreneurs from Yasin with a mission to enhance the quality of education services and provide higher secondary education within the community. In Yasin, while there are numerous primary schools, there is a scarcity of middle and secondary schools, and even fewer offer higher secondary education. As a result, youth from this remote valley often travel to distant cities to access secondary and higher secondary education, which imposes significant economic burdens and limits access to those who can afford it.

The vision behind YHSS was to establish an affordable institution that offers high-quality education to both boys and girls right in their own community. The idea was to provide an accessible educational opportunity without the need for students to leave their homes or incur additional costs.

The plan for YHSS was developed in 2018, and the school was formally established in 2019. It began by enrolling its first cohort of students in grades 6, 7, and 8. Later, in Fall 2019, the school introduced its inaugural Intermediate Science group, marking the start of its journey to fulfill its mission of delivering quality education at the doorstep of the community.
